A healthy lifestyle has had a tremendous impact on my life. On October 15, 2000, I was involved in a near-fatal car collision. As a result, my right ulna (forearm) was broken in 3 places and was replaced with a metal rod; my right femur (thigh bone) was fractured and replaced with a metal rod and my right ankle was damaged and a metal screw was inserted. I was hospitalized for 31 days, and was unable to walk unassisted for about 6 months. During my recovery, I was told by the therapists, that had I not had a regular exercise regimen (at that time, it was mainly walking 4-6 days a week), that it could have taken me much longer to recover.
As a woman over fifty, it is extremely important that I maintain overall strength and balance – two of the areas that decline as we age. Living a healthy lifestyle has helped me to achieve this. I am certified by International Sports Sciences Association (ISSA) as a personal trainer, by Aerobics and Fitness Association of America (AFAA) as a group X instructor and as a Wellness Coach and I was formerly a certified Zumba instructor.
My personal training services are virtual at this time. Virtual services are offered via Zoom.
